Accessibility for Online Learning Checklist

In 2021, I released a simple checklist to help instructional designers and developers make eLearning more accessible. It was called “Accessibility for eLearning” and it’s consistently been my most asked-for resource. It’s just what you need to get started with a quick audit of your online learning material. It doesn’t cover everything – but that can be overwhelming! Instead, it gives you an approachable place to start.

Thousands of downloads and shares later, it’s clear that this is a resource our community actually needs and uses. Today, I’m thrilled to announce its evolution: the 2026 Accessibility for Online Learning Checklist. Fully updated with clarity and accessibility in mind, this refresh is designed to meet the unique challenges of the modern digital learning environment. The checklist itself is fully accessible too! (Thanks, Venngage!)

It’s more than just a name change, it’s a commitment to keeping accessibility at the forefront of everything we build.
