The Role

We are looking for a versatile developer to lead the transition from our current web-based beta to a fully realized cross-platform mobile application. You will be responsible for the front-end user experience—ensuring it is the most accessible app on the market—and the back-end architecture that pulls from our proprietary accessibility database.

Core Responsibilities

  • Mobile Transition: Architect and deploy high-performance, cross-platform mobile applications for web, iOS and Android.
  • Accessible UI/UX: Implement WCAG 2.2 Level AAA standards within the app interface to ensure users with all types of disabilities can navigate the tool flawlessly.
  • Offline Functionality: Build “pocket-mode” capabilities so contractors and business owners can access saved plans in areas with poor connectivity.
  • Feature Development: Develop the engine for dynamic document generation and manage secure user account and profile systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Frontend Architecture: Expert-level proficiency in modern web and mobile application development patterns.
  • Backend Systems: Deep experience in server-side logic, database management, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Accessibility First: Deep understanding of ARIA standards, screen reader optimization, and high-contrast UI design.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in working with complex datasets and ensuring data integrity across multiple platforms.
  • Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
    • Cloud/Mobile Architecture: Industry-standard cloud developer or mobile platform professional certifications.
    • Web Accessibility: IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) certification.
    • Ongoing continuing education in emerging technologies such as AR/VR and cross-platform synchronization.

Shared Values for All Roles

  • Inclusion Mindset: A deep-seated belief that accessibility is a human right.
  • Problem Solvers: The ability to find creative solutions for “impossible” compliance overlaps.
  • Collaborative: Comfortable working closely with a small, agile founding team and external consultants.
  • Outcome-Oriented Flexibility: We operate as a fully remote team with flexible schedules. We don’t track hours worked; instead, we focus on high-quality outcomes, hitting project milestones, and meeting established timelines. We trust our team to manage their own time to deliver the best results.
