What a day! Amazing sessions packed with actionable information at the Rochester Chapter Association for Talent Development ROCTalent Summit 2024!
Thank you SO much to everyone who attended my session on Tuesday! This was such a fun conference with a great selection of sessions. I met so many new people and got to spread the word about Making Work Accessible and Inclusive.
ROCTalent 2024 Highlights
Kassy LaBorie gracefully handled that microphone issue to impart her wisdom on being “irresistibly remote”: we’re getting in our own way and making it weird. Done right, being remote is just as impactful, if not more so, than being in person. Don’t agree? Kassy may convince you otherwise. Personally, I find that remote environments, also done right, can be more accessible to a wider audience – so I may be biased in my preferences here!
I also got to squeal with joy at meeting one of my (literal) superheroes in person! Kassy is known for her sessions that are packed until the room is full, so I missed getting to chat with her at the last few conferences where I’ve taken home some of Kassy’s advice on being a Virtual Training Superhero.
Making Work Accessible and Inclusive
My session on “Making Work Accessible and Inclusive” was so interactive and fun to present! We actually got cut off by time before we got through all the Q&A, so you’ll have to catch the blog post and newsletter for the follow up! I didn’t mention it during the session, but that was my first time presenting the “extended” version of last year’s DisruptHR Las Vegas talk. I’m so glad I got to expand this topic and give it the attention it deserves. I’ll be following up with a series of posts on the blog, coming soon!
The BEST Part!
And the best part? I got to drag along my dad! Presenting on the opposite side of the country gave me the perfect opportunity for a visit and a road trip together. My dad also surprised me with some new Inclusive Pixelation swag – did you miss how you can get yours?
